What is NHS Direct Wales?

From April 2007, NHS Direct Wales became part of the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust.

NHS Direct Wales is a health advice and information service available 24 hours a day, every day.For patients' safety, all calls are recorded. Calls from landlines and mobiles cost 2p per minute, this will be in addition to the telephone providers access charge.

You can call us on 0845 46 47 if you are feeling ill and are unsure what to do, or for health information on a wide range of conditions, treatments and local health services. For patients' safety, all calls are recorded. Calls are charged at local rates.

If you live in the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board, Powys Teaching Health Board, Hywel Dda Heath Board or Aneurin Bevan University Health Board areas you can access NHS Direct Wales via 111 (free to call), for more information on 111 click here.

Personal information held about you will be treated in confidence and will not be disclosed to a third party without your permission unless under certain circumstances. In general, these relate to serious criminal offences, the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
